Seaview Christian College is a not-for-profit entity, owned and operated by Christian Community Ministries Ltd (CCM). CCM operates colleges located in Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia and Western Australia, in both regional and metropolitan areas, creating a wide variety of employment opportunities for qualified and committed Christians.

 

CCM Colleges enrol children of those parents who choose for their children and themselves to participate in a Christ-centred educational community in the Christian faith tradition of the College, including as outlined in the CCM Statement of Faith. Parents seeking enrolment for their children undertake to support the College in its creation of a community of faith, which will both nurture and support Christians in their faith and reveal the gospel of Christ to those who do not yet hold that faith.

Employment Requirements:

CCM schools and early education centres adhere to the historic doctrines of evangelical Christianity and believe the Bible as originally given by God is divinely inspired, infallible, and entirely trustworthy, and is the supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct. Employment candidates are required to be a person of active Christian faith who will support the vision, mission and values of CCM and the College, including our Statement of Faith.

Seaview Christian College is an independent, non-denominational Christian College located in the city of Port Augusta, 322 kilometres north of Adelaide. Established in 2016, the College is one of 12 schools operated by Christian Community Ministries Ltd. The mission of Seaview Christian College is to provide Christ-centred schooling in an atmosphere of love, respect, peace and discipline which will encourage students to achieve their full potential for God.

Current Positions available 

Administration Officer / Student Support Officer

Full-Time, Part-Time or casual available; immediate start or Term 2

Seaview Christian College is seeking a suitable person as an Administration officer and/or Student Support Officer (SSO). College staff are employed under the terms and conditions specified in the Christian Community Ministry Enterprise Agreement 2020, as amended from time to time. Staff will demonstrate a willingness to actively support the Christian aims of the College, demonstrate a strong commitment to the ethos of Christian education and be familiar with College policy, rules and expectations.

Position Summary

The Administration Officer will share responsibility with existing team members for the Front Desk area. The role will encompass a variety of administrative and customer service activities, as well as first aid support to students.

Part of the role will also include supporting students in the classroom as a Student Support Officer and provide support to teaching staff.

 

The Administration/SSO team at Seaview Christian College is a dynamic and changing environment, as such the duties listed below are subject to change as the College continues to grow and develop.

Specific Responsibilities include

Administration:

  • Be the first point of contact for all parents and visitors to the school

  • Answer incoming internal and external telephone calls and redirect as appropriate

  • Respond to requests for information from visitors, staff and parents

  • Manage deliveries and orders to the school

  • Assist with all general administration tasks as required

  • Student uniform shop sales

  • Student services including provide first aid, recording of student data

  • Contribute to safe and healthy workplace by following WHS instructions and policies

Student support officer:

  • Engaging students who need regular support

  • Developing a professional relationship with SCC teaching staff

  • Supporting students to understand and complete tasks

  • Providing support to teaching staff by preparing and packing up classroom equipment

  • Creating resources and other administrative tasks

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience in working collaboratively and cooperatively as a member of a team.

  • Strong organisational skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong customer service skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • A good understanding of the running of an Administration Office in a school environment

  • Sound knowledge and experience in using Microsoft Office software, including Outlook

  • Ability to use EFTPOS machine, photocopiers, laminators and other general office equipment.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students  

  • High level of problem-solving skills that support working in a dynamic and developing environment

  • Ability to handle potentially sensitive issues and maintain confidentiality.

  • Must hold the following:

- A current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)

- Provide First Aid (or willingness to be trained)

- Mandatory Notification (RRHAN-EC) certificate, for which the training was done less than three years ago (or willingness to obtain)
